Digital literacy is known as the ability of people to understand information technology and its use for advanced and modern communication. Digital literacy enables people to acquire cognitive skills and advanced technical knowledge to evaluate and share information on digital platforms (Vollbrecht et al., 2019). The world is becoming digital and every profession requires highly advanced digital communication skills. For example, digital literacy includes writing and publishing articles or blogs, receiving and sending emails, or finding credible sources of evidence at the workplace through Internet platforms (Techataweewan & Prasertsin, 2018). At the professional level, digital literacy enables an individual to work in a society where information and communication are accessed through mobile devices and internet platforms.

Digital literacy is essential to succeed at the professional level because every day thousands of new research are published and researched which is helping people to grow their professional competencies (Tinmaz et al., 2022). Digital literacy enables workers to collaborate with the diverse community and use technology to enhance professional skills and knowledge (Techataweewan & Prasertsin, 2018). To earn highly paid jobs, a person must have the ability to make documents in different digital formats and must know about social media engagement and collaboration.

In professional pursuits, success depends upon the individual’s ability to work in the modern and adaptive organizational culture. Digital literacy can help professionals to thrive in the advanced society where digital technologies are the major source of accessing information and communicating with others. In the modern, remote work and hybrid working culture, digital literacy enables the person to leverage new growth opportunities by shaping effective collaborations (Christian, 2022).
